Salty, Glad your S/O isn't mad at you today. That and a cup of coffee is a great start to any day!
Here are mine top things to be grateful for today. Mostly not in order of importance :
1. I am a child of God, and am loved.
2. I am sober today, waking up this morning remembering what happened the night before.
3. I am in good health, and am able to go on nature hikes for exercise.
4. I can read. Therefore I can communicate, educate myself, and entertain myself by reading/writing.
5. I have a husband who loves me, and I love him.
6. I saw Spring flowers today, and they made me smile.
7. I made plans to go to dinner with friends tomorrow. I'm grateful to have friends!
8. I am retired, and am grateful not to race off to work each day.
Okay, okay, that is more than five . . . but it is hard to know when to stop sometimes.
This is a good exercise to do each day, Salty. Try it for a few days and start to notice what things start popping up in there.

Here's my 5:
1. I knew where I was when I woke up.
2. I have animals and a husband who are not afraid of me
3. The snow storm stayed north of us, but left a pretty white dusting on the dirty, late winter ground.
4. I have service to do today and a friend to take to a meeting tonight to see another friend speak... Friends!
5. I have a list of things to clean - because I care now.
Good stuff!
It was suggested that I do an ABC Gratitude list. A is for Alcoholic Anonymous, B is Bounty of Love, C is for curtains instead of blankets and towels to cover the windows... all the way through Z!
E is for Enjoy the Journey!

1. I am sober, and so therefore, truly alive
2. Because I am truly alive, I have my best shot at shaping a positive future.
3. My wife loves me.
4. My kids love me.
5. Because we love each other, we have our best shot at shaping a positive future.
There are no guarantees but working towards a positive future increases the odds of that happening, and for that I am grateful.
The future will include pain, but also joy. The future will include loss, but also gains. The future will include growth, if I am willing, sober, and work for it; and for that I am grateful.

I've been hung up on the label "alcoholic," too, and am doing my best to sit with the discomfort for now while I explore various online meetings and try to find a good fit.
I also have way more social anxiety that I thought I did, so totally relate to the OP's experiences. I hope that the OP is still doing well.
