Snow and sounds of peace

Got an issue with someone or something? Want to whine a little? Here's the place to do it, or to get to know folks, or ask those questions that don't fit anywhere else.

Snow and sounds of peace

Post by positrac »

Recently a good chunk of our country has been under the blanket of snow and ice! This in itself isn't so terrible unless you were on I-35 west in Ft Worth, Tx. and of in OKC with those nasty pile ups or any other places that fender benders are part of the weather events!!!!

Today I was out walking my dog and it was so quiet and yet the community was out and about. I could hear a few birds and mostly just a peaceful silence! Those moments are helpful to allow myself to just think and find praise for the good things and how I got here today after all these years sober.

If you are able to bundle up and go out stop and listen and allow yourself to just unwind and look for the good even in these weird times.

Stay safe all.
Work hard, stay positive, and get up early. It's the best part of the day.

In Iowa we love a good snow day! Now, it has been a while since I could use the day for sledding, or even wanting to slide the car around an empty parking lot~! But I recognize the quiet beauty of a fresh snow fall. I usually make sure that my bird feeder is full and often hear my tiny friends enjoying their bounty. It is a time when most of the world stops or slows down. A Gift of forced quiet & reflection.

Yes Paige it is the little things that add up for those peaceful moments. I am not a real big snow lover and getting loose in the snow is really fun unless it is toward a ditch and then that pucker factor becomes a reality!!!!
