Back when I was working (and still drinking, but I was sober at the time)-

Left work, got to car. Left my car keys on my desk. Returned to my desk to retrieve my keys- got distracted by a coworker with a question. Answered question, went back to car. No car keys- and hey, where's my cell phone? Back to my desk, retrieve car keys. Asks coworker if she's seen my cellphone. She points to her desk- there it is. She asks me a other question. This one takes some time- hot in the office so I take off my coat and put in over the back of a chair. Fifteen minutes later, back out to my car.

No keys, no cell phone, no coat. Back into office. I grab my coat- check the pockets for my keys and cellphone. Back to my car- drive home, walk in the door. Suddenly realize I left my laptop in the car. Go out to the car. No laptop. I left in on my desk. Drive back to work, boss stops me at the door and we talk for about ten minutes. Head back to my car, talking to the boss on the way there. Get in car.

Get halfway home and realize my laptop is still on my desk. Back to work. Decide to check email before I head back home. Check email, grab laptop, head to car and go home. Get home. No cellphone. Left it on my desk. Head back out to car. Left my car keys on the kitchen counter. Back in, grab my car keys head back to office and grab my cell phone. By this point, I say SCREW IT- going out to dinner instead of fixing dinner at home. Go to restaurant and sit down and enjoy a steak dinner and a couple beers. Waiter brings tab. Forgot my wallet.

(Luckily, my office was only five miles from my house)

I woke up at 3 AM this morning and couldn't get back to sleep so I just got dressed and turned on the TV. At around 4 I started to feel hungry so I went to get a bowl of cereal and when I opened the fridge there was no milk. I put on my coat and started to head out the door to drive to the nearest convenience store when our 11 month-old puppy saw me getting ready to leave and got all excited. I decided to take her with and loaded her into the back of the car and took off. Fifteen minutes later I was back home and enjoying my cereal. At 7:30 I thought to myself "Geez- the puppy sure is being quiet" (which usually means she's up to something) so I got up and started to look around the house- no sign of her anywhere. I found her sound asleep lying in the back of the car- I never let her out when I got home from the store. =surprised

:D :D :D that's so cute! :D :D :D we used to get my son asleep like that on difficult nights when he was a baby :D thankfully we remembered to take him out of the car :D :D :D maybe you should try it yourself with the insomnia? Let your partner drive you around and see what happens?

I liked both stories! Good for me to have some humor this morning.
Cling to the thought that, in God's hands, the dark past is the greatest possession you have - the key to life and happiness for others. With it you can avert death and misery for them. page 124 BB
