Oh Lali! What a sad time for you. I lost my Dad a few years ago and it was a hole in my heart for a long time. Slowly it filled with good memories and fond feelings. I still miss him.

Take good care of yourself my friend. We'll be here!

He he he he he .... let's put it on a poster, Facebook, television, 8 and 10 o'clock news, twitter, on the first page of the Big Book and as a footnote in every Grapevine and Dailly Reflection issue then everyone can laugh. :?

It's a pretty good idea, actually.

Welcome here Billy. As you may know first posts on this site are checked for content before appearing, all others will go up automatically. I would like to remind you and any other readers of AA's statement on anonymity, part of which says this -
Anonymity—As anonymity is the “spiritual foundation of all our
Traditions,” we practice anonymity on public Web sites at all times.
Unless password-protected and for members only, an A.A. Web site is
a public medium, and, therefore, requires the same safeguards that we
use at the level of press, radio and film. In simplest form, this means
that A.A.s do not identify themselves as A.A. members using their full
names and/or full-face photos.
If the photo used is of yourself please change it, we can change the name if it's your full name. These and other guidelines are given under our “Start Here” section.

I can relate to what has been said. I also understand that sometimes we need outside help. For me it was therapy along with good sponsorship that got me through those times. For me there were somethings that AA alone could not address. I had some deep seated issues that therapy brought out and helped me with and AA took care of the rest. Not saying that therapy is for everyone but for me it helped a lot. I have now been sober over 27 years and I am so greatful to AA for that but also very greatful for the therapy .

Well done Sober Guy! Time flies by and one day I realized I had been sober over 20 years! I pinched myself to ensure I wasn't dreaming as it seemed as if I never drank. Character defects were another issue and a work in progress.
