I'd rather be 10 miles from Hell and walking away from it than be 500 miles from Hell but walking toward it.

It's all in this text, kel. Read every word, They are so pure, straightforward and true. http://www.aa.org/assets/en_US/p-10_howitworks.pdf

All the best.

I find in my case I am my worst critic and I am overly hard on myself. We need or should cut ourselves some slack and part of this is not letting it all hang out and yet knowing our boundaries. I would assume right now times are very difficult and your vision is still blurry over the past events and finding another really sober person and hopefully of the same sex would help you release all of the stuff that may of led to you going back out. One other point is that this time you could relearn the tools to protect you against the addiction failure. Addiction comes in all forms and I may not drink but I eat too much and spend to much money as an example and so I herd the ones I know are dangerous and I try and control the others and I don't know the perfect balance unless I were in a straight jacket!. Bottom line is our additions can kill us if we allow them to control us.

Keep coming back and try to get some rest and talk to another who is clean and sober with some time under their belt as to get some perspective and you'll see I tis not as big a mountain as you might of thought.

Ready for my next meeting sat night , had lots of support of family . Offering to come with me but I declined there offer as sometimes I think it is easier to share with strangers who have been through similar things , thanks for your support peeps .

7 years is a long time. However, those of us that have been there know 3 days is an eternity.

Keep goin back. Start lookin for a sponsor, get a big book and start reading it. Read it again.and again. Go to meetings. Find a sponsor, read the big book.
And start working the steps.
Then repeat.
Life will take on new meaning.
You will cease fighting everyone and everything even alcohol as sanity will have returned.
Plus a whole lot more promises will materialize.

Pat yourself on the back for 3 days! That is an accomplishment. Take it one day at a time, put the work in, and before you know it, you will have good strong sobriety.

One day at a time. We ALL have just today. Do not worry about the past, worry about today. I am so sorry for all of your loss. I had a hard year this past year, with lots of loss, and the program saved me. We are so lucky to have it! Don't try to do it alone.
