"By admitting where I was at fault, I was given the ability to forgive ...
With forgiveness came a freedom that I had not anticipated.
The amends had required nothing but courage, and a faith that my Higher Power
would carry me where I had been too afraid to walk alone."

Celebrating The Language of the Heart

"Though all alone out there, an AA from the Marshall Islands
still claimed his group had three members,
to wit: 'God, the book Alcoholics Anonymous, and me.'"

I don’t post these every day. But as your GVR trusted servant, one “hits me” as appropriate to share given the group conscience at the moment. This is one of those times. The Grapevine rocks!

"While we readily share our views, perhaps one of the nicest things about the AA program is that we don't always have to agree with each other."

So true. When I see some statements like this:

What's on your mind
I'm getting thirsty

Why one member needs to hear about someone's desperate need for booze

I have a sense of gratitude toward my HP that it put right people in my path so I could use the principles and be expelled of this obsession permanently. And I don't have to see the suffering to be well.
Show him, from your own experience, how the peculiar mental condition surrounding that first drink prevents normal functioning of the will power (Alcoholics Anonymous, Page 92)
