Thankfully that is not the case.
True. But as part of the 12th step, we are to carry the message to people who are still suffering. Of course there are other avenues like institutions and treatment facilities. Hope you find some options.

It's contingent upon being spiritually fit, which isn't quite the same as talking to God.

IMO it's also contingent upon not forgetting where we came from. There's no way of proving this, but I suspect that's why a lot of relapses happen.

In my experience No God in MY life= No spiritual fitness

Honestly, if I need to go to meetings in order
to practice these principles and life a sober happy life,
wouldn’t that mean the Big Book is a lie?

It just means you're choosing to need meetings. They are the easiest (and perhaps laziest) way of working that part of Step 12 which says "carried this message to alcoholics". That bit seems to have been somewhat overlooked in this thread.

Those who do nothing in an effort to help other alcoholics can't honestly claim to have "done the Steps" or "continue to work the program", even though they genuinely believe they have. Self-delusion is perhaps the sneakiest trait of the average alcoholic. It's not really alcohol itself that's "cunning, baffling and powerful", it's the stuff between our ears.

Well Blue Moon you can carry the message,
I’ll choose the more important demonstration of these
principles in my home occupation and affairs.
Best of luck all. Thanks.
