Re: never finish anything

hello Birdie, I know how you feel, as I also have that tendency as well, at least with matters that may not be as critical as AA, and my recovery. There have been several things over the years I have become involved in, only to lose interest or stop after a while. That is things other than my drinki...

Re: distractions in f2f by 3 year child

just to follow up here, at the meeting this evening the GSR and home members had met on the problem and had talked with the parents about it, so the meeting this evening was very productive, and hopefully can continue this way.

Re: Share or not share....keep hearing different

hi lyneeta, I am new to AA as well, so have limited experiences in meetings, protocol, etc., but I would like to share that I am attending at least 1 f2f meeting per day, and at each of these groups- 5 different groups in all- I have been encouraged to talk from the first meeting on. I am not saying...

distractions in f2f by 3 year child

I will start with the situation that is bothering me, which is that a couple bring their 3 year old daughter to the meeting 4 nights per week, and to the noon meetings held 3 times per week. The child is a normal 3 year, playful, energetic, and loud, etc. to the point that the meetings are disrupted...

Pink clouding fading

I am growing concerned with myself in that I dont seem to be advancing or growing in the program since I started some 7 weeks ago. What I mean is how great I felt at the first meeting I attended, even though extremely confused and worried, I felt so relived to have found a place where I could open u...

happy to have a temp sponsor here

:D Looking forward to working with my sponsor on here, while I continue to look for a sponsor in my f2f meetings.
I am not exactly sure how to determine the right choice, or how to approach him about it when I do.

I am certainly sorry you have to go thru this, but you know you are not alone in this or any other situations that come your way.

selecting a home group

I live in a rural area, with only 1 AA meeting per week, so I travel the other 6 days to attend meetings. I attend meetings 4 nights a week at one groups meeting place, and they seem to have solid meeting strcture, i.e. 12&12 study, bb study etc., so I am leaning towards making this my home group. A...

Step 1 is no problem..........

I believe in my mind I have known for years now that I am an alcoholic, I simply did not want to accept the fact, let alone face it. I have spiraled so far down, once I attended my first AA meeting it was a relief in several ways. I had no problem admitting I am powerless over alcohol, and that my l...

selecting a sponsor

hello, I'm Jack and I am an alcoholic. I have been sober since March 6th, 2011, and have been atending at least 1 f2f meeting a day since my 1st AA meeting on March 11th, 2011 (I have attended 46 f2f meetings in the first 45 days since). I live in a rural area in WV. The town I live in has 1 meeting...

hello, I'm Jack and I am an alcoholic

new to e-aa, and fairly new online type communications. I am very pleased to find e-aa, having joined in an online meeting, as well as joining the big book and the 12 step study groups.
