Re: What is your favorite drink?

My favorite drink now days is chocolate milk. What I drank in the past is in the past and I let it stay there.

Have a good day

Re: new to aa

When you start doing and working the program one thing you will find out is that alcohol is only a symptom of our disease. You will begin to see why when you get upset that you start drinking more than when things are going good. Trying to live life on our terms instead of life's terms leads us down...

Re: Sunday is going to be my hard day..

You can make it as hard as you want. But it is easier to take the simple approach. Go to a meeting, we have meetings so go there instead of going out to buy alcohol. Keep on your mind the enjoyment that you are going to have with the grandchild. And had with him/her. I have always said that thinking...

Re: Anonymity Question

When writing or speaking publicly about alcoholism, we urge each of our Fellowship to omit his personal name, designating himself instead as "a member of Alcoholics Anonymous." Alcoholics Anonymous, 4th Edition, Foreword To First Edition, pg. xiii As for to use in meetings. That choice is yours. Use...

Re: Rewards: What now?

I might be a little strange, or maybe a lot strange. My reward has always been waking up in the morning without a hangover. Is there really any better award than waking up in the morning without that hangover?

Re: I DON'T FIT IN ANYWHERE!

Hi Julie H. Sorry not too much advice. For one I am a shy person by nature. And was one reason I started drinking. It seemed to take the shyness away. Wow what a mistake that turned out to be. In this journey in life one thing that I have learned is that I should not judge people. When I was first i...

Re: not trusted!

If you have a Big Book I would go to chapter 8, pg. 104. Now the title is To Wives, but can be used for husbands. Read it have him read it. Talk about it together.

Get together in communicating with each other in how you are approaching and doing recovery.

Just a suggestion.

Re: Help.

At first I didn't think I was a alcoholic. I just thought that I did a stupid thing. It wasn't until I looked into a mirror that I came to the conclusion that I was a alcoholic. Of course having a doctor put in rehab didn't help my thinking. And having to spend 3 months in a half-way house didn't he...

Re: Scared of sobriety

I do not know what part of Cincinnati you live. But there is a Place called Dry Harbor, located on Kemper Rd. in Sharonville. They have morning, noon afternoon and evening meetings. And they probably can give you other meetings site in Cincinnati. Dry Harbor is where I got my start. Have a good day,

Re: How to unsubscribe

I have been with this forum for 8 years. And unfortunate this isn't a new subject or hasn't been talked about before. Unfortunate for me I am starting to smile when I read these kind of post saying that they are leaving because some people are taking the hard line approach. The really of Alcoholism ...

Re: Newbies

I have been in this Forum for some time now. And I have seen a lot of people come and go. Heck some have given reason why they are leaving and then just left. I believe Ann mentioned that f2f meetings have their comers and goers. So this really isn't a new problem. It has been with A.A. as a whole. ...

Can a atheist recover in the program? Yes. First what has to be done is take the religious nature of the name of god away. Replace it with G (good) O (orderly) D (direction). So when you read the word god you think of good orderly direction instead of looking at it with a religious nature. You want ...

For me a gratitude list is like doing step 4, doing a inventory. On the left side of the paper I write what's bothering me. On the right side I put what I am grateful for. What is great is on days that I have nothing on the left side, I know that it was a very good day for me. On bad days when I hav...

Do not know if you made the right decision in telling that, even though you might be correct. But I do not know the other person side of it. Step Four says: Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves. But this also include situations that arise. Just like doing a personal inventory, ...
