Re: How do I get a sponsor?

great suggestions above. now, theres a small possibility that who you ask may not be able to sponsor. beings how youre asking someone that would have what you want, more than likely they know people with the same. ask them if they know someone that may be able to sponsor you.

Re: I don't want to be around alcohol but it seems impossible

Doctors need more than a rubric to diagnose alcoholism. A lot of people who drink end up getting drunk more often than they intended. Many people regret what they do or say when they drink. But that doesn’t mean they have the disease called alcoholism doctors can diagnose all they want however they...

I try to go to meetings, but life is very busy and my wife sees it as a burden.
isnt it wild how some people wont think how their actions (drinking) are a burden, then when other people do what helps them(goto meetings)their actions are a burden.

Re: Questions heard at zoom meetings.

I have a long standing resentment against another member I can’t seem to shake off, I am sober longer than he, but he had the gall to say he has “more sobriety” than me, how can that possibly be true? Edit – The title indicates questions heard, the writer is only the reporter of these, not the pers...

Re: Running the show

Yes! Today I do! My chair just asked me to run a meeting. I was scared because these were highly valued people for me...smart...courageous...good people. But I made sure to encourage and support them all and today I can do that. It’s not all about me!! (On a good day). I almost cried afterward. It’...

Re: Running the show

How do you speak up at work to banter ideas and concepts and not be “demanding”? if your demanding, then it isnt tossing ideas/concepts out. its trying to control the show. they are ideas and concepts- if yours arent considered, the sun will still rise in the east and set in the west and the company...

Re: I drink because my life is ruined

I have nothing to live for or anywhere to go. My family doesn't want to know me and everyone has let me down. I struggle to hold down a job or make friends. I try to make myself useful but it seems to attract hatred from others. No one helps me out or takes me seriously. My strategy is drinking. It...

Re: Sometimes Quickly, Sometimes Slowly

I have heard it said: Have a good day - unless you had other plans! with all goin on with this covid, ive been helping my niece with home shooling for her 6 year old son. the principle has a daily video announcement. at the end she says, "make it a good day or make it a bad day. the choice is yours...

Re: Making amends

I can't imagine going on a trip with my sponsor. Sounds awkward. We haven't even had coffee. I have only been to a few meetings with him and spoken on the phone a few times. You might a gregarious type that becomes comfortable with people/make friend easily. I have not made a friend in many years a...

Re: Making amends

I hear people say that something significant happens. Do you somehow go thought I big guilt trip? If I have no remorse now why would I if I tell someone who is going to keep it a secret. I won't be held accountable to anyone but myself and god and gods not telling either. my 5th was unplanned. on a...

Re: Sometimes Quickly, Sometimes Slowly

There is a list of promises. I hope some will come true. I’ll have to wait longer, have patience with the process since I don’t have faith in it. My 5th step approaches soon should I allow it to happen. Why would I fear it? I have already survived the physical withdrawal plus insomnia, nightmares, ...
