Re: HYPER CONSERVATIVE OLD TIMERS - PART 2

Not sure why Mary puts quotes around "violated" since I didn't use that word, I just said it was too long according to our guidelines and that I removed it. Not a big deal is it? You know, instead of complaining you could join the business meeting and state your concerns in a place that actually has...

E-AA group elections

The E-AA Group will be going through the elections process for trusted servants in 2016-17 this summer. To participate in the business and Group conscience of your Group you must join the E-AA group's business meeting. You can find this "members" e-mail business meeting at http://e-aameetings.org/ma...

Re: "Un" lucky 13?

Grapevine had an issue on the stages of sobriety. Apparently 13 is a significant time when we deepen our relationship to our HP. I wonder what it said about my stage :)

Re: Friendships

Hi! When I was going through this it really helped to study the steps, which were the pathway to repairiig my relationship. I went over situations in detail with a few trusted friends in AA and my sponsor, and often I was directed to apply the steps to the issues. I found that following the directio...

Re: Back to Basics Meeting Format

I've heard of meetings where they go through the Joe and Charlie tapes ("The Big Book Comes Alive") while reading along to a transcript, and discuss.

Re: Recovering alcoholic with 137 days of sobriety needs hel

I remember early in sobriety applying for social security benefits for my alcoholism. They were denied. It was the best thing that could have happened to me. I'm so grateful I hit the pavement and drummed up a job. I know that's not possible for everyone, and I know it can be very hard not having a ...

Re: Anyone into photography?

Hi Tosh, Well, I looked at some of the pictures I took of our house "in the country" (the only house we own, as we rent an apartment here in Stockholm). We lived here full-time 2001-2003 and 2007. Since then it's been our retreat from city life first in Tallinn, Estonia and now here. house and barn ...

Re: Struggling with loneliness

Welcome Hobbit. It took me about 3 months to "crack" the AA code of fellowship. I did it by going to a meeting every day, sometimes twice a day, and looking for a sponsor. That took me to a lot of different meetings, but I ended up joining the group that met closest to my home, and where my sponsor ...

Re: Scared

You are not weak, you are probably very very strong, finding our site and asking for help! What I had to find out was that I had a disease. Alcoholism made me drink when I didn't want to, and it was stronger than me, despite all my self-will. Luckily Alcoholics Anonymous understands the problem and ...
