Re: The Athiest

Ok regulators.....deep breath! I am sick and tired of listening to windy atheists. Then don't some of you might say. Well I'm forced to in many forms. Atheism outside of AA is consuming society and its more dangerous than global warming. I thought I had a lot more to say but actually I'll just say t...

Re: Felt like a moron after my share today

Hey, you are so not alone in feeling vulnerable when you take your first steps in putting yourself out there in a room full of alcoholics. From what you have said, I can see exactly why that guy would truly have appreciated your share. A lot of people, myself included, do a share where they feel the...

Re: Other meeting formats than top table shares?

Thanks Avaneesh, that was really helpful. I might look into opening an open discussion meeting....it sounds like the format of English speaking meetings that I have attended abroad. And I might also even keep How It Works as the reading...it's funny how just by allowing yourself to be a little irrev...

Other meeting formats than top table shares?

I have been sober and attending aa meetings for more than a few years now and am bored of the format. It has taken me a long time to admit this to myself. I also attend so many meetings where How It Works is the only reading entertained from the book and there are whimpers and outrage from people wh...

Re: Friday 13th ....despite yoga, still alcoholic

Thanks folks for all your comments. What was so annoying was, I had meditated so much the day before and talked with members about step 6 and all those terrible 'old' behaviors and then this morning felt completely blind sided. I felt possessed and it was very unsettling. I thought briefly about tak...

Friday 13th ....despite yoga, still alcoholic

I pulled out at a junction this morning at a snails pace and yet managed to offend a cyclist. The whole thing happened so fast. When I perceived that he was eye balling me (lone, fragile female alcoholic?) I did behave in an untoward manner, non verbally gesturing some expletives. I do not sit here ...

Re: Procrastination

Hi, I suffer similarly though the condition has improved some. I can hear my old sponsors voice as I was reading what you had to say and she was saying " Your HP is telling you your a procrastinator" . Whenever I said to her 'how do I stop....?' she would say, you just stop. I did not find it helpfu...

Re: what should i avoid? Kefir or the internet?

Hi,

Thanks for your responses :-)

There was nothing on the bottle indicating alcohol content and it did not taste at all of alcohol so I am just going to let this one go. You're right Pat....grain of salt required when going online sometimes.

what should i avoid? Kefir or the internet?

Hello, I have just today tried a new health drink called kefir, bought in the dairy section of a health food shop. And now thanks to the internet i have been alerted that it contains as much alcohol as beer. Exasperation. Can this really be true? Have I relapsed in Real Foods? I have drunk a bottle ...

Re: My Character Defects keep hanging on for dear life

No need to appologize. In my case, my mind would still replay the old drama even after doing the fifth with 2 sponsor and a counsellor. There were some deep scars that simply sharing with others wouldn't help. Thats when "Power Of Now" concepts started to sink in and came to realize the true self, ...

Re: The next right thing OR poor boundaries?

I was undecided until i read that you had a room mate, so i would have to go with Harry - NO Also, i think, its not other people's boundaries that are necessarily the problem but ours and our ability to put them in place and maintain them...think you can do that in close proximity to a loved one? Ma...

Re: Stopped drinking, taking sleeping pills, help

'Generaiised anxiety disorder' sounds to me like alcoholism. I am comfortable saying that and don't feel i need to be a medical expert to do so. I would suggest face to face meetings and asking for help ie the programme :-)

Re: Pet Peeve in AA

Yes, i can relate big time. This is sooo my kind of issue. I have talked and thought about turning my back on aa for this very reason and so have had to really deal with it. What i am learning haha is aa is full of sick people myself included. Alot of them myself included are not always able to hear...
