Re: Heard at the District Meeting!

I wished there would of been an updated companion book available when I came into the Fellowship back it the late '70's. It was a tough read because of the outdated language back then.

Re: Looking for a new sponsor and guidance

AAWS has a pamphlet 'Questions and Answers on Sponsorship"" which is a good guide about sponsorship. You can read it online here:

Re: Entertaining with alcohol?

My wife and kids are all normal. The kids and their friends were not allowed to bring or drink alcohol in the house until they were of legal age. My wife rarely drinks and if we entertain, she buys and serves it. The only thing that bothers me is when they leave their beer or drinks half finished. I...

AAWS has a good pamphlet on sponsorship. You can read it online here:

As far as the discussion, it's no wonder why many think AA is not for them.

Re: Seeking the truth

It sounds like the group has some major issues. A great resource for any questions about AA is AAWS website at AA.org.

Re: 3rd Tradition Long Form

Surely we are talking about people, who after warming the chairs for some time, continue to give contributions, which indicate that the program as laid out is not necessary, to the potential detriment of those newcomers who need everything the program suggests for survival. . Yes...I see this alot ...

Re: Growing a garden? Anyone else?

I love it. I love having fresh herbs outside to use when I need. That along with the tomatoes, tomatillos, and peppers from sweet to ghost. Added horseradish last year so I'll see how that turns out at the end of the season. And, then there is the rest of the yard with the flowers, shrubs, and trees...

Re: Cured or in remission - Does AA have a 'used by date'

I know of many who sober up and don't go to meetings or participate in AA anymore. There is no way to account for them in these so called recovery statistics. I can't control what anyone else does in life, so there is no sense in wording about it. As far as those saying "nobody" using or reading The...

"Antibuse is fear based treatment for drinkers. If you are a real-alcoholic, its a pretty dangerous path"

And even if you are just an alcoholic. You don't have to be real, just and alcoholic.

You would be incorrect about your assumption. e-AA may be an online group on its own, but has nothing to do with any other AA group.

Re: AA and meds

She did you a favor by not agreeing to sponsoring you. Anyone giving out medical advice without a medical degree is a prime example of self will run riot. It's one thing to suggest someone talk to their doctor to re examine an issues, but suggesting someone stop medication is pathetic.
