Step 10

Hi everyone, Hope all well & sober! I'm just wondering how other people do step 10? I just do it as it says in the book. I use the watch, ask & turn. I'm not perfect at it as I'm only 7 months back after a relapse. I don't do any writing or mini step 4 inventory. I said it to my sponsor & she says y...

Re: Sponsorship query.

So if you don't sponsor do you guys bring people through the book just not with the sponsor label? The lady that's bringing me through the book has no sponsor. She did it herself with help from Mark & Joe. Actually that's how I did the first 3 steps, reading the words on the page on my own, talking ...

"Recovered"

Hey, So my big book study group started to go from the beginning of the book again. We started on the title page. And alot of the meeting was talking about the word recovered! Great listening around to when people were sharing how they recovered & when it happened to them. I'm not recovered yet I do...

Step 11 nightly review

Just started Step 11 with my sponsor..just read the nightly review so far.

How does everyone do their review? I started last night just by doing it in my head. I sort of scanned through my day to see where I was resentful etc.

Then meditated for 10 mins!

Re: choice

Great to hear people's thoughts on this. I'm going through the steps again..moving on to step 10 today. I had a relapse before Christmas after 5 years sobriety but as it says I didn't enlarge my spiritual life & eventually the obsession came back and I drank again. And I will drink again if I don't ...

choice

The fact is that most alcoholics for reasons yet obscure, have lost the power of choice in drink. Can anyone explain what they mean when they say we have lost the power of choice in drink. I do get a bit confused around this..my sponsor says we drank passed choice. My interpretation is that if i don...

Re: Mental Obsession

I don't have a personal definitive answer, but it happened sometime during working the steps. Because I wasn't obsessing, it took me a while to pick up on the fact that I was no longer obsessing; if that makes any sense! . I just remember at some point it hit me that I couldn't remember the last ti...

Re: Big Book hard to follow

Need to understand different people communicate better in different mode. Conveying something among an audience requires skills. Even today its hard for me convey something in meetings. Listening is better. If I have to talk to someone, I can always go up to them after the meeting and chat with the...

Re: Mental Obsession

When did the mental obsession leave you guys? You know that delusion that some day some how I can control & enjoy my drinking? I'm in the middle of step 4 & the obsession is still there at times not every day but when it's alive & kicking its horrible. I'm praying more than ever & getting back into ...

Re: Big Book hard to follow

I can certainly relate. I have only shared a few times in the 3 years I have been going to F2F meetings. Social anxiety has always plagued me and I have a really hard time telling a story. I am a very technical person and can tell someone how do do something by relaying logical step by step instruc...

Re: Big Book hard to follow

I can relate to you both. I did everything in my power to avoid sharing because I didn't feel like I had anything to share that would be of value. I came late. I left early. I passed when called on. You name it and I did it. i felt like a fool but I didn't want to open my mouth and remove all doubt...
