Re: AA In Maldives

I lived in Diego Garcia for 27 months back in the mid-1990's and besides the beauty of the atoll it was great that we had AA because it was a drinkers paradise!

Re: Speaker tapes

Strong arm tactics....... =biggrin Well the alternative is go back to what you were/have been doing and see if the results change with all of the knowledge you have on the disease of alcoholism. What I have learned in my 30 plus years sober is I control very little and I have to know my limitations ...

Re: Help me to understand!

I know we all hope and mean well and then the poster never shows up again and then "we" kick around the purposes and requirements and other 12 step guidance's that we live by. I am very to the point and at times not tolerant of foolish online string pullers. Today 31 years ago I hit the wall and cou...

Re: Help me to understand!

I believe going to a meeting in person is what you need as reality has a way of making you aware.

Tommy,
Well done sir with that 40 year sobriety B-Day! I've been riding a ship out of Norfolk recently doing some testing.

Again great to hear from you and have a great rest of the year!

Re: 35 years sober

Congrats on a huge milestone in your life and all of us sober because you give us all the hope that if we do it one day at a time then we can make our own milestones.

Well done!

Re: When will I feel normal?

I look at your question as this for me! I will never be normal and or equal to those who may indulge in life's distractions. Because of this I have to learn to live in that world without participating in those things as I am not responsible nor can I control my urges. What have I've done in the past...

Re: 1st September Daily Reflection

my drinking was a symptom of my problems and alcohol just molded itself in a manner most difficult for me to shake. Character defects and personality are always works in progress. I venture to say that when I don't revert to old ways and just take a breath and step back I normally can do whatever is...

Re: Military Requirement

While I was on the job today one of my co-workers whom was in the Army mentioned the situation at Ft. Hood! It was interesting to hear his take on various things not mentioned in media. Then we shifted gears to being on the clock and how to out wit leadership acting as if we were hard at work while ...

Re: Home Group in China

Good to hear from you on the other side of the world! I can say I spent 7 years in Asia and the meetings I would attend had locals and expats and others from other parts of the world. Greatest common bond is we are all in the same boat and the elements of drinking in access can wear on us sober folk...

Re: How to work the work in from the start!?

Funny looking at modern times in our world at how much we have available at an moments notice and or click of the mouse ect. I was on my job and I was able to meet up with a member of the program and good friend. We had some time to fellowship and catch up and compare and whatnot. We were reflecting...
