Special note for IGR's and Alt.-IGR's. Please try to find a way to make the agenda as well as committee reports, available to everyone in your group or meeting. The agenda clearly spells out dates for discussion. Thank you to all voting members who voted in March as we were able to make quorum.

4. Grapevine Representative's Report, Scott

We have sent weekly reminders for the drawing to all lists of E-AA on either Sunday or Monday. This month we had 35 entries, Well Done! This months grapevine drawing winner was Bob (fishtime) Congratulations!

March Grapevine Magazine Highlights

"Fear of people and of economic insecurity will leave us," the Big Book promises, if we are painstaking about making amends and living along spiritual lines. But when we are in the throes of financial difficulty, those fears can snap back with terrible force.

Stories like "Weathering the Storms" in this month's special section are vivid reminders that we can stay sober no matter how tough it gets. When the author's car is repossessed, she doesn't drink, but convinces the tow truck driver to take her to a meeting.

"Gimme Shelter" describes the unexpected bounty a homeless mother receives when she keeps doing the next right thing and turns the results over to God. She and her children have to live in a tent, but within its nylon walls, the family has a chance to slow down, share memories and grow closer.

The author of "My Contribution" questions the payoffs of staying sober and being true to himself when it means forgoing material reward. He comes to see that the money and fame he once pursued are not goals, but the means to a spiritual end: helping others and sharing the gifts he has been given. The big payoff, he writes, is "being alive and bursting with possibility without AA, I would likely be dead."

Once the shrouds of fear and alcoholism are lifted, these authors suggest, our bank accounts may not be restored, but our souls are; we can see and live life in a new light.

Subscriptions to the Grapevine can be ordered here: http://www.aagrapevine.org/catalog/shop/gvsuborder.php

5. Literature Committee Chair's Report, Sheila

Niki's Story was published on the "Our Stories" Forum. Niki is active in Chat, Women's and Women's Sober Lounge. To see her story go here http://www.e-aa.org/group_stories.php

We sent out 5 Big Books in March:

Susan Texas Women's
Alicia Kentucky Chat
Lyndsay South Africa Forums
Tara California Sponsor Committee
Gwen British Columbia Get Help Now

Here are some comments from our recipients;

"Thank you so much everyone talks the big book and I feel clueless"

"Bb arrived hugs on way to first f2f"

"I want to say thank you so much for shipping the book. I received it today. So, "Thank you".

"I received my Big Book yesterday (Wednesday) Thank you so much. I have the hard cover from 23 years ago and when I finally opened it, the pages were just falling apart and could barely read it. Yes I have been in and around for alot of years. I'm back to taking it a day at a time and keeping quiet his time. I was laid off last year and felt sorry for myself and didnt do what I knew I should do and it led to another DUI. Thank God I didnt hurt anyone. After spending 90 days in jail Im back to meetings and after care which Ive been attending both faithfully. Its good to know that AA is now on line and there are people like you all out there willing to help."

And that's what it is all about, isn't it? Helping another alcoholic achieve sobriety.

9. Real Time Coordinator's Report - Scott

Many new people in chat room and more new ones each day!

7542 log ins in main room this month, some repeat users
2746 log ins in meeting room, also some repeat users

March log-ins
Fellowship Room-7458 log-ins with some repeat users
Meeting Room-2829 log-ins with some repeat users
New to Recovery Room-1081 log-ins with some repeat users

Monitors Report- Jenny, Buster, Joy, Don, Dan, Brenda, Mags, Thane, Todd, Walt, Dean

BillH. and Pat have stepped down as monitors. Thanks so much to both of you for all your service! Walt was added as a new monitor, thanks you for stepping up Walt!

Chatcom Report- MarkH, DonS., FishtimeBob added to chatcom. Bullybill removed as I had no clue who it was nor had I seen this person ever post. Also Terry posted she was leaving chat and I requested she be removed also.

Chatcom has been orderly and we have had some productive conversations. Mainly, discussing what chatcom is, and who is the chat committee. Also currently discussing the possibility of conducting the meetings in the fellowship room instead of the Meeting Room, thus eliminating the meeting room and combining.

Also chatcom users were notified that decorum guideline also are in effect for the chat transcripts in an effort to quell the ugly discussions in private chat including various acts of cyber sex. The announcement has made a huge difference as logs are much better!

CC"s comments: Chat room is showing vast improvement. Chatters stepping up to help newies, and assist in meetings when needed. Decorum guidelines being met aside from a few various instances which will happen now and then. Discussion with persons over violations has been met with satisfactory results. Most understand and agree.

Substantiation of complaint was voted in unanimously. This should resolve any complaints from chat rooms in an orderly fashion and eliminate the disorder on the members list.

Chat Coordinators agenda for month of March
1) Decorum guidelines implemented and introduced to front page.
2) Discussion of meetings being done in Fellowship room to quell the amount of people in meeting room and fellowship room at same time while not participating in meeting.-In progress
3) Training of new monitors with Buster and Jenny as trainers. One meeting successful and second canceled due to illness.
4) New to Recovery Room introduced and activated. Usage is slow but getting better. Only recovery based talk allowed in new room so newies and chatters both have a place to talk recovery aside from the busy and often idle chatter happening in Fellowship room.
5) Discussion to allow readings from Living Sober to be used in the Sat beginners meeting along with our standard reading used. 1 objection. Majority approved. First meeting using it was a huge success with many people saying they enjoyed meeting and found it helpful
6) Easter Alkathon being set up by Bob, Lisa , Joy, and Dawn. Front page handled by Buster.- In Progress
7) Cleaning of chat blazer server of old and obscene log in names with an occasional mistake. Chatter asked to kindly re register and met with mostly positive reactions. Accidents happen dealing with 1100 different names. Jenny instrumental in helping and implementing this. Thank you!

Thanks to all in Chat Committee and all chatters for the continued support!

11. Listkeeper's Report, Trish O.

Nothing new to report in the listkeeping department. Everything is running smoothly.

12. Webteam Chair's Report, Bonnie

March came in like a lion over on the webteam! Upon Dean's departure from the webteam, some restructering is needed on the webteam. Due to personal health issues I was not able to fulfill much during this month. Also, as I no longer feel qualified to do what is needed, I will be stepping down as chair.

John P., who is more than qualified, has agreed to step up. With his willingness and knowledge, March goes out like a lamb. Thank you John.
