1. Alternate/Acting Secretary's Report, Sally
During the month of October, two of our Trusted Servants found the need to step down, and therefore the positions need to be filled. We nominated and consequently confirmed Pat L. to be our new Chat Coordinator. Thank you Pat for stepping up. We will fill the other position in November.
2. Treasurer's Report, Ketra
An overview of our Oct. accounts:
851.22 beginning balance
217.45 member contributions
(106.74) expenses
961.93 current balance
A few notes:
1. The group suffered a $60.00 loss over the summer on our Grapevine Giveaway. A member volunteered to order subscriptions, was fronted the funds and failed to order the subscriptions. Efforts to contact that member to straighten out the matter have failed. However, our current literature buyer has taken action to make sure that our winners have all now been properly subscribed to the Grapevine "as advertised."
2. As we settle into our new hosting arrangement and streamline literature processes the group savings will be evident and mid-November I'll recalculate our prudent reserve and make distributions to our service entities on behalf of the group.
3. For members donating by check in October, your contributions will be reflected in the November report. I was traveling a chunk of the month and correspondence tasks slid. My apologies for the slow processing. That's entirely on me.

3. Online Intergroup Rep's Report, Susan
Please see the report for October from the OIAA Chair Dreena:
Reports received for October: Sponsor Committee, Treasurer's quarterly report, Chair, Listkeeping, Public Information Committee, Convention Committee, Ad Hoc Committee, Unity Committee, Cooperation with the Professional Community Committee, and Web Committee.
The topic of Tradition 10 generated a lively discussion this month. There was informative personal experience given regarding Tradition 10 as well as an AA website for the AA Pamphlet: "Speaking at Non-A.A. Meetings" http://www.aa.org/lang/en/catalog.cfm?category=4&product=60 The Concept Ten lead share was also refreshing in its being related to personal experience of this concept.
Toward the end of the month we had another lively and informative discussion regarding OIAA membership count which appears to be growing (the ad hoc committee looking into the viability of online AA groups will give us a more current membership count...and hopefully it will show that we are still growing) and membership participation which appears to be lacking input from the many. It was also interesting to observe some statistics regarding AA contributions . . . and the lack thereof. The discussion brought about an Agenda item for discussion in November.
4. Grapevine Rep's Report, Trish D.
Our winner for October was Mark R. We had a total of 51 entries this past month. Reminders are being sent out regularly for the contest.
The current issue of the Grapevine's theme is Growth and included stories about spiritual growth, emotional growth and just growth in recovery in general. Here is a link to the story from the current issue: http://aagrapevine.org/gv/current/article2.php. One of the stories that stuck out for me was a story about two old drinking buddies meeting up years later in AA and reconnected with each other.
The Grapevine's website has some really cool features including a forum called i-Say. On i-Say you can talk about Grapevine articles and other selected topics. Here is the link for the i-Say Forum: http://www.aagrapevine.org/isay/forum.html .
The Grapevine put out a new book this month called A Rabbit Walked into a Bar. It's a collection of the best jokes and cartoons from past Grapevines. The book costs $9.95 and can be purchased here: http://www.aagrapevine.org/catalog/shop/books.php .
Subscriptions to the Grapevine can be ordered here: http://www.aagrapevine.org/catalog/shop/gvsuborder.php The cost for a 1 year subscription is $27 for the USA, $31 for Canada and $39 for all other international orders.
Call for Articles: The AA Grapevine is your meeting. Please feel free to share. We are always looking for new stories to share with our readers, especially for our Special Sections. If you would like to share a story with us, please keep in mind that we need to receive it at least three months prior to publication. The Grapevine welcomes articles on every aspect of recovery in Alcoholics Anonymous.
We are always glad to get stories about helping others and working with professionals. In addition, we always welcome articles about the Traditions and the Twelve Steps. Suggested manuscript length is three to seven double-spaced pages. Include your full name, address, phone number, and e-mail address. Please keep a copy of your work because manuscripts cannot be returned. Refer to our Submission Guidelines for more information.

5. Literature Committee Chair's Report, Sheila
We sent 2 Big Books in October:
Keri from New York, referred by Women's meeting
Stacie from Ohio, referral from a Lit. committee member who was in chat
Here is a lovely quote from a grateful recipient of one of our books:
"...but I wanted to let you know that I am grateful that you took the time to send me this book. For the first time in 20 years I feel that there IS hope for me, and for once, I am excited. "
We do have a finished story, ready to post in the "Our Stories" section.
Stay tuned for further details....
6. Links Editor's Report, Arlena
There were no new links added this month. There is one pending that I will be checking out. We continue to check existing links to make sure they are still active to keep our directory up to date.
7. Listkeeper's Report, Trish O.
Everything is running smoothly in the listkeeping department of e-AA. No changes to report. One member did ask after the update of the server if the new contact email had changed. It is listkeeping@e-aa.org Please update for your records.
8. AA Grapevine Grabbag: http://www.aagrapevine.org/da/grabbag.php Keep refreshing your browser for a new joke. After clicking a few times I found this comment: "MAYBE THERE IS NO FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH, but a couple drinks sure do make almost everybody act a lot less mature."
